Eleocharis Fluctuans
Eleocharis Fluctuans
Eleocharis Fluctuans, formerly known as Egleria Fluctuans, is an elegant stem plant native to South America. It features reddish-brown stems and hairlike olive green leaves that sprout from nodes in tufts. Its rarity makes it an alluring addition to any aquarium and is best acquired through other hobbyists.
Eleocharis Fluctuans is a highly demanding floating aquarium plant (alike Eriocaulons or Syngonanthus), requiring intensive light, nutrients, and CO2, as well as soft, acidic water with a pH of 6.5 or below. When exposed to hard or alkaline water, it will turn black and stop growing. It can be planted in the substrate, with a stem cut for propagation.
