Rotala H'ra
Rotala H'ra
Rotala rotundifolia "H'Ra" or "Gia Lai", alternatively known as Rotala sp. "Gia Lai" / "H'Ra", is a relatively recent introduction from Vietnam to the world of aquascaping. Its nomenclature is inspired by its place of discovery: H'Ra in the Gia Lai province, situated in central Vietnam. This aquatic plant is characterized by its slender leaves which, under adequate lighting, manifest a pleasant spectrum of light orange to red hues.
The growth pattern of Rotala rotundifolia "H'Ra" mirrors that of the Rotala rotundifolia "Green", showcasing a graceful overhanging to horizontally branched stem structure. When juxtaposed with the "Green" variant, the visual appeal of Rotala rotundifolia "H'Ra" is particularly accentuated. A notable distinction between this species and the similar Rotala rotundifolia "Colorata" is its lighter-colored, narrower leaves and a more pronounced overhanging stem morphology when nurtured under identical conditions.
